Information about Susan White & Mark O'Connell's Senior Model Board

Our Senior Model Board is composed of representatives from each high school in our area. You must be planning to graduate the following school year to apply to be on our Senior Model Board (we only accept Juniors). The purpose of the board is to promote Susan White & Mark O'Connell for Senior Portraits to all students who will be seniors next year. Students who are selected to be on the board will receive the following benefits:

Free Senior Model/Fashion Session - This is the fun part of being on our model board. We need current samples of senior portraits each year, and the model board will help us create these samples. This is a fun photography session meant to show the many ways you can be photographed. You can bring different outfits & props to use in the portraits. We will discuss your options when we schedule your appointment.

The portraits from these sessions will be used in our advertising for the upcoming portrait season and on your model cards. This session will be scheduled during the first two weeks in April after you are selected for our model board.

BONUS - If you want to place an order from this session, you can do so at HALF OFF our regular prices! Discount good for 30 days from the date of your Model session.

Free Senior Session - You will receive our Ultimate Studio Session for your senior session. Your senior session will be between May 20 and June 15.

Half-price Family Portrait session - You can schedule a optional family portrait session at any time during your senior year. Your senior year is the perfect time to have a family portrait taken. As our Model, you pay only 1/2 of the current session fee for a family session.

Discounts - You will be able to order your Senior Portraits any time up until September 1st. You earn your discount by working on our mailing list (see below). These are substantial savings. Since we only use our clients as Models, we do expect you to purchase your senior portraits from us and not from any other photographer. It wouldn’t look good to have our models buying their senior portraits somewhere else. In order to receive your discount you will need to place your order and pay your balance in full by September 1st. Discounts do not apply to lay-away orders.

Cash and Prizes - You have the opportunity to earn additional discounts, cash, and prizes by recommending us to your friends. Each discount card with your name on it that is redeemed (this is a booked session and photo package purchased) will earn you a $15 credit and one point toward our prizes:

5 points = A Free Double 4x5" folio.
10 points = A Free 9 page “Minialbum” custom printed book with your favorite 9 portraits (Retail value of over $140)
15 points = A $100 cash bonus
20 points = Apple iPhone 3GS - 16 GB‡ or an 8 gb iPod Nano.
25 points = A FREE Netbook computer*
40 points = A $500 College Scholarship† from Photography by Susan White & Mark O'Connell!
You will also have opportunities to earn BONUS points.

Please note that prizes are not cumulative.

*Computer models change rapidly and those available now may not be available in a few months. Currently, the computer we are giving away is a Dell - Inspiron Mini Netbook with Intel® Atom™ Processor - White with 10.1” LCD widescreen display, 160GB hard drive; built-in webcam, model IM10-008B-WHT retail value $369.99. If this computer is discontinued or unavailable, we will substitute a similarly priced, comparable model.

†College Scholarship includes 2 payments directly to you of $250 each, one in August of your freshman year, one in August of your sophomore year. You must show proof of enrollment in any 2 or 4 year college.

As you can see, the rewards of being on our Senior Model Board are pretty good. You can save quite a bit on your senior portraits; you can easily earn discounts, cash, and prizes just by talking to your classmates. Here are a few things that we will expect you to do for us:

Mailing List - This is how you can earn your discount. You will gather names and addresses of people in your graduating class at your school and provide the list to us on a disc or by email. Don’t worry; it’s not that hard. With last year’s yearbook and a telephone directory it won’t take long. (If you don’t have access to a computer, just let us know and we’ll make arrangements for you.) Meet the goals we set for you on this task and you'll also earn 2 BONUS points for completing this!

You will earn one (1/2) credit for each correct name and address that you supply to us. A credit is good for $1 toward your senior portraits until September 1st. Enter 200 names, save $100 on your Senior Portraits! Credits can be used for your order total until September 1st. If you have any questions about earning your discount, please call us. We’ll be glad to answer any questions you have.

Get your Facebook classmates to become Fans of us - Send our the word to all your friends in your graduating class to become fans of ours, and for every 25 friends you'll earn 2 BONUS points.

Model for our Samples - We’ve already talked about this above. It is important that we have good samples and that you have a great portraits to show off.

Promote Susan White & Mark O'Connell Photography - You do this by showing off your Model Cards, and telling your friends how great our studio is. The more you promote, the better it is for both of us. We ask that you set a goal to give a card to everyone in your graduating class whether from your school or friends from other schools.

Purchase YOUR senior portraits from Susan White & Mark O'Connell Photography – Since we only allow our clients to be Models, we do expect you to purchase your senior portraits from us and NOT from any other photographer. Some schools require that you have a yearbook photo taken at the school and that’s OK. You are not required to make a purchase from the school’s photographer to be in the yearbook.

So what will all of this cost you? All seniors (including Senior Models) must pay a reservation fee** in order to schedule an appointment. The reservation fee for Model Board appointments is $100 and it will be applied toward your portrait order. The minimum order to be on our Model Board is $200 after discounts (the reservation fee applies to this so you will only need to pay an additional $100 for a $200 order). As a Senior Model, you will not pay the Model Session fee or the Ultimate Studio Session session fee (normally this would cost you $199 for the model session and $140 for the Ultimate Studio Session), and half price for a family session (normally $195).

When you place your order you will receive a discount as a Model Board member (based on your mailing list and points, info above). You will need to place your order by September 1st. but you can order earlier if you like. Your reservation fee will be deducted from your order total. Our senior packages start at under $299.

Our Senior Model Board is a good way for you to get a great deal on your senior portraits, earn cash and prizes, plus help us market our services at your school. Please Note: Bonus Points can be earned for various tasks from time to time but bonus points are limited to 25% of the points you redeem for prizes. For example, if you are shooting for the $500 scholarship which is 40 points, 30 of those points must be from seniors using your discount cards, up to 10 can be bonus points.
